The steady collapse of a 25-year marriage is what led Snejana Kischner, 57, to the Cook County Circuit Court, seeking a dissolution of marriage from her husband, Bruce Kischner, 64. Their union, which began in August 1999, now bears the unmistakable marks of irreconcilable differences. Living under the same roof on North Osceola Avenue in Chicago, the Kischner couple officially separated in December 2023, and there has been no reconciliation since. With no children to further complicate the process, Snejana contends that the marital breakdown is permanent.

In her petition, filed on October 16, 2024, Snejana’s attorney, Iana Trifonova, emphasized that past efforts to mend the relationship have failed, rendering future attempts futile. Both parties are financially independent, and the settlement outlines a division of property, including their shared residence in Chicago. Additionally, both Snejana and Bruce have agreed to waive any claims for maintenance against each other, signifying a clean break.

The Kischner’s marital settlement agreement has already been crafted, addressing the distribution of assets and debts, and the court is expected to approve it as part of the dissolution process. What remains is the formality of the court’s final judgment to end the marriage on the grounds of irretrievable breakdown.
