In a case unfolding in Jackson County, Missouri, Iyabo Jenyo Odewole has formally filed for a dissolution of marriage from her spouse, Oluseye Adegoke. The petition, filed on November 20, 2024, comes after the couple separated on August 1, 2024, following a marriage that began on August 15, 2018. Both parties, who reside at the same address in Kansas City, Missouri, have no children from the marriage, and there is no indication of pregnancy.
Represented by Jessica N. Foxx of Foxx Law, L.L.C., Iyabo is seeking a fair division of the marital property and debts accrued during the marriage, or an approval of a potential Marital Settlement Agreement should they reach one before the hearing. Both parties have expressed their ability to support themselves, and neither is seeking spousal maintenance. In addition, the petitioner has requested that no party terminate health, dental, or vision insurance coverage during the pendency of the dissolution process.
Further, the petition notes that both parties should bear their own legal fees, although Iyabo reserves the right to request the court to compel Oluseye to cover her attorney’s fees if he delays the litigation. With both parties represented by counsel, the case now awaits a resolution from the court, as Iyabo seeks a fair and equitable settlement for her future.
