In a petition filed with the Circuit Court of Cook County on May 15, 2025, Steven Anthony Smith formally requested the dissolution of his marriage to Patricia Lorraine Kerr, citing irreconcilable differences that have led to an irretrievable breakdown in their marital relationship. The case is being handled remotely by the Domestic Relations Division.

Smith, 35, of Berwyn, Illinois, is represented by attorney William A. Quiceno of the law firm Kempster, Corcoran, Quiceno & Lenz-Calvo, Ltd. In his verified petition, Smith contends that previous efforts to reconcile with Kerr, who resides in Bridgeport, Connecticut, have proven unsuccessful and that any future attempts would be equally unproductive.

The couple wed on July 23, 2018, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, marking just under seven years of marriage. No children were born or adopted during the union, and no shared marital debts or retirement plans exist between them, according to the filing. Both parties are currently employed and are said to already possess their respective personal property.

Smith’s petition requests that each party remain responsible for their individual debts and retain the possessions currently in their care. He further seeks to bar Kerr from seeking spousal maintenance, asserting her ability to support herself.

As of this filing, no hearing date has been scheduled. All proceedings in the case will be conducted remotely via phone or video conference, following Cook County’s guidelines for domestic relations cases.
