In Cook County, Illinois, Domingo Bahena has filed a petition for the dissolution of his marriage to Alejandra A. Zavala. The petition, filed on September 17, 2024, through his attorney Luis M. Sanabria of Sanabria Law, cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for the irretrievable breakdown of their marriage. The couple, married on August 15, 2017, in Chicago, has been living separately since December 12, 2023, and previous efforts at reconciliation have been unsuccessful. Domingo, 53, and Alejandra, 52, share no minor children, and no other petitions for dissolution are currently pending.

Throughout their marriage, the couple accumulated marital debts and property, and Domingo requests that the court divide the assets and allocate the debts fairly. As a result, he is asking the court to officially dissolve the marriage, and grant any other equitable relief deemed appropriate.

Luis M. Sanabria, representing Domingo, filed this petition in accordance with the Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act. Domingo has signed the verification under penalties of perjury, affirming the truthfulness of the statements made within the petition.

This case highlights the challenging reality of a relationship that couldn’t be salvaged despite efforts to reconcile, leaving both parties to seek a just and equitable conclusion through the court.
