Jennifer L. McWilliams, age 50, has filed for the dissolution of her marriage to Millard R. McWilliams, Jr., 58, in Cook County, Illinois. Represented by MLG Law Group, Jennifer seeks to end the 17-year marriage, citing irreconcilable differences that have caused the irretrievable breakdown of their union. Efforts at reconciliation have failed, and the couple has been separated for more than six months.

The McWilliamses were married on September 15, 2007, in Cook County and share one child, now 16. Jennifer asks the court to allocate joint decision-making responsibilities for their child while requesting to be designated the primary residential custodian. Both parties are employed and self-supporting, and neither seeks spousal maintenance. They have acquired marital property, assets, and debts during their time together, which Jennifer requests be equitably distributed.

In her petition, Jennifer asks the court to dissolve the marriage, establish shared parenting time, and continue joint financial contributions for their child’s education, healthcare, and extracurricular activities. She also requests that each party retain their own non-marital property and be responsible for their own legal fees.
