Joseph R. Holder has taken formal steps toward ending his nearly nine-year marriage to Carissa L. Holder, filing a petition for dissolution of marriage in Jackson County, Missouri on November 11, 2024. The couple, married on September 26, 2015, separated in May 2024, citing an irretrievable breakdown of their relationship. In his petition, Joseph states that both parties are capable of supporting themselves independently, and that there are no children involved in the marriage. Both parties have mutually agreed that neither will seek maintenance from the other. Additionally, Joseph requests that the marital property and debts be divided fairly, and that any non-marital assets owned by either party be returned to their respective owners.
Represented by attorney Abraham D. Kuhl of The Kuhl Law Firm, LLC, Joseph has also requested the court to approve any Marital Settlement Agreement the parties may have entered into or, if one has not been executed, for the court to make a fair division of their assets and liabilities. In the event that Carissa intentionally prolongs the litigation, Joseph has reserved the right to ask the court to have her pay for any additional attorney’s fees and costs. The petition also addresses any attorney’s liens, ensuring they are settled according to Missouri law. Joseph’s petition lays out a clear request for an equitable resolution of their assets and debts, aiming for a smooth dissolution of the marriage.
