On July 17, 2024, Christopher E. Shrum filed a petition for dissolution of marriage from Brandi N. Shrum in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Missouri. Christopher, represented by attorney Dylan R. Briggs of Cordell Law, LLP, states that both he and Brandi have resided in Missouri for over 90 days before filing. The couple, who wed on October 11, 2013, in St. Charles County, Missouri, separated on June 25, 2024, citing irretrievable breakdown due to irreconcilable differences.

The petition reveals that there is one child from the marriage, an eight-year-old. Christopher claims that Brandi relocated with the child to Columbia, Missouri, without his consent or prior notice. He seeks joint legal custody and sole physical custody of their child, arguing it is in the child’s best interest.

Christopher requests that the court make a fair distribution of their marital property and debts, noting that no property settlement agreement has been reached. He also petitions for child support to be calculated per Missouri Supreme Court Rule 88.01 and Form 14, with Brandi contributing to the child’s financial support. Furthermore, Christopher contends that Brandi is capable of supporting herself and contributing to both her and his attorney’s fees and litigation costs.
