In a legal step toward ending a marriage of just over three years, Stephen Davis filed a petition for dissolution of marriage against Amara Kearney in St. Louis City Circuit Court on March 10, 2025. Represented by John R. Fenley of Reinker, Hamilton & Fenley, L.L.C., Davis asserts that the marriage is irretrievably broken with no reasonable likelihood of reconciliation.
The couple, who married on November 6, 2021, officially separated on January 15, 2025. Davis states that both parties have resided in Missouri for at least 90 days before the filing and confirms there are no children from the marriage. While neither party seeks spousal maintenance, Davis requests an equitable division of marital property and debts, either through an existing settlement agreement or a court ruling if negotiations fail. Additionally, he asks that Kearney cover his attorney’s fees and legal costs incurred in this proceeding.
The case now moves to the court’s discretion, where the division of assets, liabilities, and any outstanding financial matters will be determined in the weeks ahead.
