The bonds of marriage between Marissa Ponce and Edgar Valle, once strong, have now fractured beyond repair. On March 10, 2025, Ponce filed a petition for dissolution of marriage in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois, citing irreconcilable differences as the cause for the breakdown. Represented by attorney Veronica Campos of Legal Advocate Solutions, she seeks an equitable division of assets, spousal maintenance, and child support for their two minor children.
Ponce, 43, and Valle, 40, were married on August 16, 2006, in Chicago. Over time, their relationship deteriorated to the point where reconciliation became futile. The petition outlines that both parties have lived separately for a sustained period, with no reasonable path to restoring the marriage. While Valle is employed and self-sufficient, Ponce asserts her need for financial support.
In addition to maintenance, Ponce requests that Valle contribute to her legal fees and that the court establish shared parenting responsibilities. She also seeks the division of both marital property and debts accumulated during the marriage. The court will now weigh these matters as it considers the final dissolution of their nearly 19-year union.
